Braaibroodjie Burgers
You’ll bowl everyone over with these delicious Braai Burgers. We have used Barrett’s Ridge Garlic & Herb Beer Bread Mix but these will be incredible with any of our savoury mixes.
Traditional sesame-topped burger buns using Barrett’s Garlic & Herb Beer Bread mix filled with your favourite burger pattie and anything else your heart desires.

Ingredients
- 4 Barrett’s Ridge Beer Bread – Garlic & Herb recommended
- Melted Butter
- Sesame seeds
- 4 Burger Patties
- Sliced Gherkins
- Pickled red onion
- Crisp lettuce
- Burger sauce of choice
Method
For the Buns
Make the Beer Bread as per instructions –
but instead of scraping into loaf tin, form into bun size balls and place on baking tray.
Brush with melted butter, sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 180 for about 20 minutes or until golden brown.
For the Burgers
There really are no rules when it comes to assembling a burger… but here’s one of our favourite burger combos:
Slice buns in half and butter on both sides
Layer with lettuce, braaied burger patties, gherkins, burger sauce and onions.
Top with other half of bun.
Toast burgers on the braai till crisp and golden.
Enjoy with your favourite beer and a side of onion rings.
